Cast brass construction is ideal for strong, seamless, one-piece faucet spouts. We’ve been making and using our own permanent molds for more than 25 years to assure quality control. Our durable cast brass faucets feature low lead construction and are available in a variety of beautiful finishes and styles
Brass is a metal alloy consisting of copper, zinc and a minute amount of lead. American Standard smelts its own low lead brass to ensure a precisely blended and consistent alloy. This alloy replaces lead with bismuth resulting in our faucets having less than one quarter of one percent (0.25%) total lead content by weighted average.

The molten brass is poured into heated permanent metal molds made of beryllium copper. Waterways are created through the use of a sand core held together by a resin. The core burns off when contacted by the molten brass, releasing the sand grains to freely shake out of the cooled casting.
The next step is machining, using computer-guided lathes and milling machines to create threads, precise diameters and dimensions. We then put our faucets through grinding and polishing using sanding belts and buffing pads to transform rough parts to a mirror-like surface. Your customers can get stylish faucets from just about any brand, but they can only get the inside beauty of performance and durability from American Standard faucets.
Brass faucets generally come in two varieties, cast brass and tubular brass. Cast brass is typically more robust, thicker, and durable than tubular brass. American Standard brass faucets feature cast brass construction for longevity and durability.
